Ernesto Paulo Ricou, born in 1948 in Porto, Portugal, is a talented artist with a diverse background. In addition to being an accomplished engraver, art teacher, and curator, he has founded an Intercultural Art Center and the Musée de l'Immigration in Lausanne, Switzerland. Ernesto's passion for his family is evident in his role as a devoted father of six. His heritage is equally rich, with ancestral roots in Switzerland, Portugal, Italy, France, Spain, and Brazil, which have undoubtedly influenced his artistic expression and unique perspective.

Ernesto Ricou embarked on his artistic journey as a young student at the Escola Superior de Belas-Artes in Porto, Portugal, where he studied art from 1971 to 1974. Seeking new artistic horizons, he moved to Switzerland in 1974 to continue his studies at the Ecole Cantonale des Beaux-Arts et Arts Appliqués of Lausanne. He obtained his degree in engraving from the Ecole Supérieure d’Arts Visuels in Geneva in 1981, further honing his craft. Ernesto's passion for cultural exchange led him to establish CasaMundo, a vibrant cultural center, in 1994. He later founded the Musée de l’Immigration in Lausanne, Switzerland in 2004, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of immigrants in Switzerland. Ernesto's lifelong commitment to art and culture has made a lasting impact on the artistic landscape, inspiring others to embrace their creativity and celebrate diversity.
